Boys Wrestling · Landon Places 2nd at State as Devils End Their Season

Congratulations to Landon Moralez placing 2nd at 106lb in the 3A State Tournament held in Richfield. Landon’s way to the championship match was a workmanlike journey. He first overcame a slam call to start the tournament. The call didn’t rattle Landon, he went right back to work pinning his opponent in 18 seconds. Next came Juab where Landon worked hard for the 8-4 win. In the Semifinal match Landon again put in the work beating Delta 8-5. In his championship bout he grappled with the varsity Juab kid losing 0-5.
Grand County’s Jeffrey Davis also competed at state today. Jeffrey battled hard with his opponents and really competed well. He came up short on both of his matches today but represented Grand County extremely well.
Aiden Gordon just missed qualifying for state but still committed himself to the team helping and wrestling with Landon.
We are so proud of these three young men and their commitment to each other and team. Congrats for seeing it through to the end Red Devils. RDP!
