Boys Varsity Swimming, Girls Varsity Swimming · Red Devil Swimmers had a Busy Two Days in the Water

Thursday the team traveled to Emery for competition and Friday they hosted their senior recognition meet. Seniors Kyla Jackman, Duncan Clark, Richard Shumway, and Mahonri, and Patt Pakkarato and their parents were honored today. They are an important part of the success and leadership of the swim program. We are grateful for the positive impact they have with the program and school. We wish them all the best in the season and where life takes them.

The coaches had this to say about the two days:

The team had a great meet last night with over 16 PRs. Here are some students that swam awesome last night.

Tagert’s performance oin the 200 free was awesome with a 17.25 second drop in time. Tagert also cut 4.20 seconds off his 100 Backstroke.    Ricky Shumway dropped 1.33 in the 50 Freestyle and Conner Duniway dropped 2.15 in the boys 50 freestyle.

Mallory Maughan shaved off 10.04 seconds off her 200 freestyle and 10.32 off her 100 freestyle when she was the lead off swimmers for the girls4x100 freestyle relay.  Kaisten Oliver cut 2.34 seconds off her 100 freestyle as well.

Summary of Friday’s home meet:

The team had 20 PRs at todays meet. Oran Moore had a great meet.  He dropped time in both of his individual events.  He cut 1.71 seconds in his 100 Freestyle and .68 in his 50 freestyle.  Conor Duniway dropped over 4 seconds in his 200 Freestyle. Camron Stotz cut 2.33 seconds off his 100 freestyle,  Mahonri George dropped 2.65 off his 100 backstroke and he cut off 2.13 seconds from his 100 Butterfly.  Nick Hren shaved off .90 seconds off his 100 freestyle.

For the girls:        Zoe Warren swam very well today….She swam a 2:24.34 cutting 3.35 off her fastest time in the 200 freestyle.  She also cut 1.22 seconds off her 100 backstroke time as well.  Jacelyn Shumway cut 2.23 seconds off her 100 Backstroke.  Mackenzie Mayer, cut .19 off her 50 freestyle and 1.20 off her 100 freestyle. Mekker Relph PRed in her 100 freestyle as well cutting .14 seconds off her fastest time.

Over all the past two day the kids had over 36 PRs.  Considering they swam two meets back to back to days in a row the did a great job!  They are GREAT kids!   RDP!!!
